The Element Wolves CUSTOM: These three wolves represent the four elements- fire, earth and water/air. -- UPDATE: A FOURTH wolf was added to this set! So make sure to continue passed the Earth wolf to see Air!

Water Next is water/air. I knew that I had to fit four elements into three wolves, so I Incorporated air into the water wolf by adding clouds of vapour.

Earth Last is Earth.
Earth: Left It took me a long time to figure out how I was going to represent earth. Then it dawned on me. There's no terrain more epic than mountains.

Air Wolf And just when I thought there was only going to be three elemental wolves, I ended up finding a fourth wolf figure! So say hello to the newest addition to this set, the Air wolf!
Air: Left It took me a while to think of an awesome representation of air. But then I thought... what's more epic and intimidating than a tornado?

The Big Bad Wolf Midway through his creation, the customer and I realized that we had inadvertently made the Big Bad Wolf. So check out the set of three little pigs that extend this collection even more!

Max: Bulldog of Scotland and Canada CUSTOM: Max is honor of a bulldog (also named Max) who has unfortunately passed on. He was gifted to Max's owner by a Rarezas customer.
Left This figure had a long way to travel. Although the figure was purchased by a customer here in Canada, Max's owner lived all the way in Scotland!
Back As a symbol of the friendship between my customer and Max's owner, I created a hybrid flag of Scotland and Canada.

Binu CUSTOM: This puppy is a dedication to one of my favourite dogs in the world - Inu Binu!
Front This figure was created to the exact specifications of a very special Rarezas Art customer - my mom! (And also Inu's mom.)

Right The real Inu has a cute nickname - Inu Binu. When Binu is paired with the first figure (called Inu), you get "Inu" "Binu".

Vinny the Chow Chow CUSTOM: Vinny the Chow Chow (x2) were both created in memory of a beloved dog named Vinny.
Front The "base" layers were created to look like Vinny's actual fur.

Back When speaking to this amazing Rarezas Art customer, she told me that Vinny was protective and playful. I came up with stars as a motif, because they are both bold, and can be painted to look like they're dancing.
Left I just knew I wanted to achieve an overall playfulness, and hopefully emulate Vinny's personality in the figures.

Vinny This is the real Vinny. He looked like such a good boy!

The Xolo CUSTOM: This dog was inspired by not only the Mexican breed, xoloitzcuintli, but it is inspired by three particular xolos that stole our hearts while we were in Mexico.
Front For the design of the xolo, I drew heavy influence from Mayan art and the art of Frida Kahlo who owned xolos during her life.
The Tongue The most defining feature of the xolo is its lack of hair. But many don't realize that the gene required for hair is the same gene required for the retention of teeth. Therefore, many xolo's lose their teeth at a very young age, causing their tongues to hang out. This tongue is particular is a dedication to Box (Bo-sh), the most chill of the three dogs happened to have this trait and would make me laugh every time I turned the corner to the Eco station when seeing his giant tongue dangling.
The Mohawk Although xolo's are hairless, it doesn't mean that they don't have ANY hair at all. Sometimes they will grow little bits of hair here and there on their bodies - the most common place being on top of their head. This is a dedication to the punk rocker of the three xolo's we met, Peck, who had a long bleach blonde mohawk growing from the top of his head.

La Luna The third and sweetest of the three was a female xolo named Luna, which in Spanish means "Moon". Something you may not know about me is that I have always dreamed of having a female dog which I would name "Luna", as it is one of my favourite names and possibly my favourite Spanish word. I instantly bonded with Luna, and when I asked her name, the team matter-of-factly said, "Luna". Needless to say, my heart broke and I just wanted to take her home even more even though we couldn't.
