Custome Picture! The Goofy Horse has found the perfect home in Amy Thiessen-Roy's craft room!

Love and Protect Named in honor of their fallen sister, Rienna (Lotus) Nagel, Oil City Roller Derby presented the 2018 Lotus Invitational; a mixed gender event for fresh meat and advanced skaters alike! Also at the event, there was a silent auction, selling various works of donated art, including a very special donation by Rarezas Art titled "Love and Protect".
Close Up Detail This hanging wall mount features the faces of two horses. When I was first approached about the silent auction, I felt the connection of Derby races and Roller Derby appropriate.
Bottom On their necks you can see the familiar symbols of Roller Derby - the Jammer Star and Blocker stripes.
Top The symbols are echoed on their ears.
Left On their sugar skulls is a colourful lotus flower - this is in honor of "Lotus" the Oil City Roller Derby's fallen sister. This piece is dedicated to not only the team, but also to her memory, and the memory of all others who fell victim to domestic violence.
Right I also chose these specific horses because of their position. It almost appears as if the one horse is protecting the other. I felt this was a wonderful symbol of what we must do...love and protect those that are in need of it, and stand against domestic violence. This is why the blocker horse is named "Protect" and the jammer horse is named "Love".
The Lotus Invitational This event was presented by the Oil City Roller Derby team!
The Silent Auction During the Lotus Invitational, a Silent Auction took place. All proceeds were donated to the Win House.

The Sunset Horse CUSTOM: This horse was created in the style of Art Nouveau!
Front Given are garden theme, I decided on a sunset colour scheme and beautiful bell flowers.
Front You might be able to see this beauty in his new home in Fuel Coffee Bar in Onoway!
Right This figure was created to the exact specifications of one of Rarezas Art's wonderful customers.

Detail My mother and step father wanted the horses to represent them. This horse represents my mom, and she wanted all her favourite colours, and for the horse to be covered in hearts. <3 <3 <3

Right The second horse represents my step dad. He loves to play golf, so I covered his horse in golf balls, golf clubs and I even gave him a big "green" nose.
