Fifi the Ballerina Hippo CUSTOM: One of the funniest figures I've ever worked on, Fifi is loosely inspired by the real baby hippo, Fiona. If you're interested in ordering your own star, email rarezas.art@gmail.com!
Left This hippo is also very much an homage to the Ballet of the Hippos from the classic Disney movie, 'Fantasia'.
The BUTT Fifi was so funny from this angle, that I had a hard time painting because I couldn't see through my tears of laughter.

Angel Fish 1 My dad has always had a fascination with fish. He built the house I grew up in, and the wall dividing the dining room from the living room was a giant fish tank! Maybe that's why I'm convinced I'm a mermaid.

Seahorse My all time favourite type of fish - the seahorse. The only thing that could be better is a sea unicorn.

Front Even the cutest of us can end up in Davy Jones' locker!
Left Once given the "underwater, pirate" theme by the customer, I knew I wanted to give the otter an eye patch. But when I put the eye patch on the otter, I didn't like how it stuck out. Then I thought ... what if he was a zombie (like the ones seen in Pirate of the Caribbean 2) and his 'eye patch' was made of barnacles? I then got a bit carried away with that idea. Luckily the customer loved it!
